This is a summer weight, vintage 1940s quilt with (I think) only two layers. The backing is entirely pastel yellow, so thin that you can see through it hints of the patterning of the quilt's front layer. It's stitched together by machine, hand quilted and the narrow strip of binding is machine attached and then folded over the edge and bound by hand. The result is a pretty cover-- very colorful and perfect for summer. It's soft and comfortable and larger than most old quilts-- about 87" x 107" and could be used on a queen-sized bed. White cotton with multi-colored prints in a "Flower Garden" pattern with a scalloped edge. Narrow, white cotton bound edge. The center section of one flower needs to be resewn. Light soil and a few very small stains noted. Measures: about 87" x 107".
