Vintage Quilt made with a triangle pattern. Much is hand sewn but some may be machine stitched? I don't know enough about quilts to say definitively. Please look at pictures carefully. Measures about 120" x 104" and would easily fit a king size bed (in attached pictures it is displayed on a queen size bed).
Quilt is reversible with the same pattern on the other side. In fact, with the way the triangles match up on both sides, it looks like the maker took squares and folded them in half diagonally then stitched a row of them together, followed by a row of white triangles, followed by another row of print material triangles, and so on, until there were 41 rows of print material triangles attached to 40 solid white material triangles. Three of the borders have triangle borders and the fourth side (top of the quilt) is just sewn straight across. This is a really impressive looking quilt.
No clue as to age but guessing it may be from the 1980s with some possible older material scraps included? It does have a few stains in spots but the majority of this quilt is clean and undamaged. I don't see any tears. There are a few spots where some of the stitching is coming undone and will need to be re-stitched.
The last 4 pictures show you samples of stains. Some stains look like the yellow in some of the fabrics have run onto the white blocks.
Some of the fabric swatches look to be a brighter color than the same swatch on the opposite side so maybe one side of the quilt got more sunlight? No clue, and not the case with all the swatches.Someone put a lot of work into this quilt and it deserves a new home where it will be appreciated and enjoyed. Please note this quilt is heavy.
